What is Wellness?

WELLNESS DEFINED: “… A STATE OF COMPLETE PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING, AND NOT MERELY THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE OR INFIRMITY.” – THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION.

 

SPECIFICALLY, WELLNESS ENCOMPASSES MANY COMPONENT PARTS, INCLUDING: INTELLECTUAL, OCCUPATIONAL, EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, FINANCIAL, AND SPIRITUAL.

WHAT IS HEIDI’S ROLE IN WELLNESS?

I am a Health and Wellness expert known for my attention to detail and unwavering curiosity. I have worked as a children’s advocate for improved health, nutrition, and physical education programming in the public school system through federal grant funding. I have also worked tirelessly as an independent researcher in search of truths and answers pertaining to what is best for human health placing emphasis on nutrition, mental and physical well being. Sharing this knowledge with youth and adults is my passion and life’s work.

I am practical in my approach and believe bringing balance into one’s life is a pivotal access point to one’s full potential. I enjoy working in a collaborative way to accomplish both group and individual wellness goals. Acknowledging and assessing these goals has proved to be my strength as I have worked in many capacities to foster development and growth in all dimensions of wellness.
